Volunteers - helping may your stay more comfortable
United Hospital Auxillary
HDHS volunteers registered with this group are principally involved in fund raising activities and in the provision of voluntary service in various areas.

Church visitors
Chruch visitors visit patients they know to be from their own Chruch Congregation. Church visitors are not free to visit patients from other congregations.

Red Cross
This services comes under the direction and supervision of the Penrith Red Cross Branch. Red Cross volunteers file nails, soak hands, hand massage, apply nail polish.

Hawkesbury City Council Library
Free bedside service to provide patients with reading material (books and magazines) in both standard and large print. No membership is needed and there are no charges.

Hawkesbury Cardiac Support Group
A group of former patients, families and friends who have formed a cardiac support group, at the invitation of the former Hawkesbury District Hospital. Members and friends are able to gain support and information through meetings and activities in an information situation. Members of this group visit cardiac patients in hospital.

LINCS
Community support service to young families

Reiki
This specialised service is provided by qualified volunteers. For some people Reiki brings feelings of well being.

Cooking
A volunteer cooks meals for patient/patient's family in accord with particular arrangements made between the volunteer and patients. Ingredients are supplied by the patient/patient's family.
