HDHS is a purpose-built health care facility, designed to provide integrated hospital and community health services. The two-storey hospital building accommodates a range of upgraded services which replace the existing ones at the old Hawkesbury Hospital. The adjoining Day Therapy and Community and Allied Health buildings provide a base for the growing community health services within the Hawkesbury.The new health service fulfills the role of a district hospital, similar to the old hospital but with upgraded specialties.
