Public Patient Admissions
Your surgeon will provide you with a request for admission (RFA) booklet. Upon completion of the booklet you may bring it to the main reception where you will have an interview with our booking officer. Alternatively you may mail these forms to our booking officer. Upon completion of these forms you will be placed on a waiting list and given a provisional admission date unless otherwise stipulated by the surgeon. A staff member will call you to confirm this date, provide you with details of pre-surgical procedures (eg fasting) and to answer any questions you may have about your stay in hospital.
Admission times
Admission times for surgery are between 6:30am and 2:00pm. You will be advised of your admission time by our Patient Services Team. Medical and emergency admissions can be at any time on the advice of the doctor.
Departure times
Discharge times are usually 10:00am and at the discretion of your doctor. Please ensure your carer will be available to escort you home at this time.
