UHA

The membership of the HDHS United Hospital Volunteers (UHA) is approximately 100 volunteers, moulding the culture of caring at HDHS through their devoted provision of over 35,000 hours of service to HDHS during the past 12 months.

The UHA offer services to improve patient comfort during their time at HDHS. A mobile gift shop trolley is taken to hospital wards every morning for those patinents who can not visit the shop themselves, flowers arrangements are refreshed regularly. UHA volunteers are also involved in our mail sorting and delivery process, recycling, greeting and escorting patients to their wards and assist with some clerical duties.

The UHA also work tirelessly to raise funds for HDHS. The fundraising efforts of the UHA volunteers are extraordinary and have contributed to the purchase of new hospital equipment, through such initiatives as the Charity Golf Day, Raffles and Gift Shop.
